Alison, trained as a pharmacy technician, and has worked in this profession since leaving school. Her love of art however, led her to classes at her local college and then on moving to Scotland in 1982 she attended art classes run by James Marshall Dickson, with whom she spent several years learning different painting techniques

Alison also joined Dunfermline Art Club, and subsequently became club president; a position she held for several years until last year where she stepped down to allow herself more time to devote to painting.

She also spent 4 years doing an Open College of the Arts Painting course at Leith School of Art, and has latterly attended courses on abstract painting in Norfolk and at the Bridge House School of Art in Ullapool. All these experiences have allowed Alison to experiment with medium, colour and form, helping her to develop her own unique style.

To date, Alison regularly exhibits at the annual Dunfermline Art Club, the Fife Art Exhibition sponsored by Shell, and the Di Rollo Gallery mixed exhibition in Edinburgh, and consequently has a growing number of collectors throughout Fife.
